TEMP: Event Crew & Hosts

Events are back and we need event crew to make them AWESOME! We are so excited to be working with events again and will be looking for EVENT CREWS to assist with local events & weddings. FUN jobs will include ticket takers, promotional hosting, coat check, load-in and setup of supplies, furnishings and decorations for the events then take down and load-out at the end of the event. Earn up to $24/hour + Bonuses!

POSITIONS: Event Crew & Hosts
DATES: Shifts available daily at major events, weddings, parties, corporate conferences and hotel functions.
DUTIES: Assisting with the event set up, teardown and hosting fun corporate events such as “The Amazing Chase” or the “School Supply Scramble” – pre-designed race courses or challenges. Includes crowd control; keeping participants encouraged, excited, involved and making it FUN. Training will be provided. Various opportunities for events also include coat check, ticket scanning, wrist-banding and crowd management.
HOURS: Morning, evening & overnight shifts for 6-8 hours
LOCATION: Whistler, Squamish & Pemberton
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS: Event crew must have excellent communication skills (English) and public relations abilities – be professional. Must be energetic, friendly, confident and naturally outgoing. Also hard-working and happy to pitch in where needed.
WAGE: $20-$24/hr + 4% vacation pay
- PROBY (Tier 1) = $20/hr to start
- REGULAR (Tier 2) = $22/hr after 10 successful shifts
- HERO (Tier 3) = $24/hr after 20 successful shifts

AND this summer includes a +$2/hr Weekend Bonus for all shifts worked on Saturday and Sundays from July 1st-Sept 1st 2024

DUTIES: : Oversees the on-site crew and helps coordinate the setup, execution, and teardown of event operations. Acts as the main point of contact for workflow, problem-solving, and ensuring tasks are completed safely and efficiently.
QUALIFICATIONS: Requires at least 5 years of related experience including hands-on knowledge of audio, video & lighting installations + steel-toed boots.

PERKS:
- Work all 10 shifts over 12 days and earn an additional $2/hr Superhero Bonus on all hours worked.
- Many shifts offer OVERTIME PAY at 1.5x your regular wage.
- Transportation/Parking Per Day: +$13 per shift
- This is an opportunity to earn between $5,500 and $6,000 across the 10-day event.

WAGES: Whistler Personnel uses a progressive pay system that awards pay increases based on the number of Successful Shifts completed. The more you work with us, the more you get paid per hour!

- $50/hr TIER1 Base Wage
- $52/hr TIER2 after 10 shifts (Base + $2/hr Bonus)
- $54/hr TIER3 after 20 shifts (Base + $4/hr Bonus)

The Perfect Candidate:

Proven experience as a pipe layer in civil construction.
Strong knowledge of pipe installation, trenching, and grading.
Experience with various types of pipes, including PVC, HDPE, and ductile iron.
Ability to operate related equipment such as excavators, and loaders.
Understanding of safety regulations and procedures related to pipe laying and trenching.
Physically fit and able to work in outdoor conditions.
Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
Valid Driver’s License.

Responsibilities Include:

Lay, install, and maintain pipe for storm, sewer, and water systems.
Ensure proper alignment, grade, and depth of pipes according to project specifications.
Excavate trenches and backfill as required for pipe installation.
Assist with the setup and operation of trenching and pipe-laying equipment.
Collaborate with the project team to ensure safe and efficient project delivery.
Follow safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
Keep detailed records of work completed and materials used.
Read and understand civil drawings.
