A leading home builder in Whistler is seeking a highly organized and motivated Design Technologist / Project Coordinator to support the planning, coordination, and successful execution of high-end residential construction and renovation projects.
This role is ideal for someone who has a strong understanding of the residential construction process from pre-construction through project completion. You will work closely with project managers, consultants, trades, clients, and municipal authorities to help ensure projects are delivered efficiently and accurately.
The successful candidate will play a key role in managing project information flow, coordinating schedules and documentation, securing quotations, overseeing permit processes, and supporting budgeting and procurement activities.
In addition to project coordination responsibilities, this role will assist with rezoning applications, covenant modifications, variance permits, and building permit submissions, working alongside clients, architects, legal counsel, and municipal planning departments.
Experience with Revit or similar design software is considered a strong asset
About the Roles, Perks and Benefits:

The Perfect Candidate
- Diploma or degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 2- 5 years of experience in residential construction, project coordination, or related roles.
- Strong understanding of the BC Building Code and municipal bylaws.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and construction/project management software.
- Experience with Revit, CAD, or similar design software is an asset.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of taking initiative independently.
Responsibilities Include:
Contracts & Procurement
- Assist in preparing and issuing bid packages to qualified trades and suppliers
- Support the tendering process, including solicitation, analysis, and trade selection
- Assist with project scheduling and task list development
- Support the drafting, negotiation, and execution of construction contracts
- Coordinate and document change orders, including pricing and scope revisions
- Assist the Project Manager with client scope changes and trade pricing coordination
Financial & Budget Management
- Support project budget tracking and cost estimating
- Coordinate with the accounting department to provide monthly budget updates
- Track committed costs and ensure alignment with project contracts and approved budgets
Drawing Management
- Manage drawing revisions and ensure all stakeholders are working from current drawing sets
- Assist in reviewing shop drawings for scope completeness and accuracy
- Maintain organized project documentation and information flow across teams
Relationships & Information Management
- Act as a key point of contact for clients, consultants, designers, and subcontractors
- Coordinate with project managers and site foremen to support successful project execution
- Identify and help resolve project challenges and scheduling conflicts
- Monitor project progress and maintain clear communication regarding milestones, action items, and deliverables
- Support municipal applications and approvals, including rezonings, variances, covenant modifications, and building permits
