TEMP: Event Labourers

January and February is BUSY for events and trade shows – and everyone needs event labourers, so get amongst it!

The FIS Nordic Junior World Ski Championship and U23 Cross-Country World Ski Championship will take place at Whistler Olympic Park from Jan – Feb 2023, and we are looking for Event Labourers to assist with the set up and takedown before and after this incredible event. We also have shifts available in Whistler for the ICSC Conference, organized each year by the International Council of Shopping Centers, and for Whistler Pride at the end of January!

Events such as this would not be possible without the help of so many people to help set up and ensure the event runs smoothly. Come and be a part of something amazing and earn up to $29/hour, PLUS overtime rates and a carpool allowance for many shifts!

POSITION: Event Installation & Takedown Crew – Callaghan Valley & Pemberton 

  • DATES: Install daily from January 14th – 26th, takedown daily from February 5th – 12th.
  • TIMES: 8:30am-5:30pm. Overtime rates are applicable if the shifts run over 8 paid hours!
  • LOCATION: Olympic Park in the Callaghan Valley, and Pemberton.
  • DUTIES INCLUDE: Helping with the install and takedown for this large project located at Whistler Olympic Park in the beautiful Callaghan Valley. Various duties include setting up and taking down tents, flooring and mats, furniture, pipes & drapes, packing, cleaning and pitching in where needed. Heavy lifting is involved.
  • SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Physically fit, mobile and able to lift heavy loads. Friendly, hard-working and happy to pitch in where needed.
  • OTHER REQUIREMENTS: STEEL-TOED BOOTS or sturdy work boots depending on the shift.
  • BONUS: Employees driving to their shift are eligible for $5 a head for each additional person they can carpool per day.
  • Additional shifts are also available at the Company warehouse in Pemberton on various dates!

POSITION: Event Installation Crew – Whistler

  • DATES: January 21st, 22nd and 24th.
  • TIMES: Various AM and PM shifts available. Some shifts are 10 hours, so overtime rates are applicable if the shifts run over 8 paid hours!
  • LOCATION: Fairmont Chateau, Whistler.
  • DUTIES INCLUDE: Helping to unload / load and setup/takedown of equipment, booths and furniture for a trades show. Some shifts require the operation of pallet/power jacks in tight spaces, and pitching in where needed.
  • SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Experience using power/pallet jacks is required for select shifts, but not all. Physically fit, mobile and able to lift heavy loads. Friendly, hard-working and happy to pitch in where needed.
  • OTHER REQUIREMENTS: STEEL-TOED BOOTS are required.
  • BONUS: Earn an additional $2/hr if you have pallet/power jack experience!

WAGES:

Whistler Personnel uses a progressive pay system that awards pay increases based on number of Successful Shifts completed.  The more you work with us, the more you get paid per hour!

Maintenance Worker, full-time, part-time and temp

We have maintenance worker positions available for the summer and beyond!  If you enjoy working outdoors, are handy with tools and fixing things and want to give this type of work a try, then we want to hear from you!  Full time or part time hours are available and wages are in the range of $23-$26/hr with experience or  $20-$23/hr without any prior experience plus 4% vacation pay, and affordable staff accommodation available for the right candidate!

ABOUT THE POSITION:  Apply Now

  • DATES: Starting right away with potential for long-term. 
  • HOURS: Generally 8:30am to 5:00pm
    • 3-5 days a week – priority given to those who can do full time hours.
  • LOCATIONS: Indoor and outdoor sites in Whistler.
  • DUTIES INCLUDE: General building maintenance in Whistler.  Duties include minor repairs, paint touch-ups, power washing the parkade, checking and replacing light bulbs, cleaning the grounds, removing rubbish and pitching in where needed.
  • QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Generally handy and good at minor repairs. Experienced with basic building maintenance and operation of basic hand and power tools.  Physically fit, mobile and able to work on your feet for the duration of shift. Friendly, hard-working and happy to pitch in where needed.  
  • ADDITIONAL DETAILS:  
    • Affordable staff accommodation available for the right candidate.
    • Drivers Licence is beneficial but not required. Vehicle and tools are provided. 

COMPETITIVE WAGES:

Whistler Personnel uses a progressive pay system that awards pay increases the more experience you bring to the table and the number of Successful Shifts completed.  The more you work with us, the more you get paid per hour.

  • PROBY (Tier1) = $20-$23*/hr to start plus 4% vacation pay
  • REGULAR (Tier2) = $22-$25*/hr after 10 Successful Shifts plus 4% vac pay
  • HERO (Tier3) = $23-$26*/hr after 20 Successful Shifts plus 4% vac pay

*Higher wages available for those with relatable experience.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Ensure the smooth operation of the Market to the best of your ability.
  • Preparation of value-added services such as gift baskets, Groc to Go shopping, and organizing any necessary deliveries.
  • Ordering of product as specified by owners while keeping in mind the
    company goals of cost effectiveness.
  • Assumes responsibility for security key and alarm code as well as all
    related opening and closing duties.
  • Assist with setting up store merchandising displays.
  • Safely and accurately restock product shelves.
  • Ensure products are front facing and orderly on shelves.
  • Be proactive and thorough in keeping up with any details or follow-up that is necessary.
  • Maintain a calm, courteous, and friendly rapport with customers.
