TEMP: Full Cycle Accountant

Looking for a temporary Full Cycle Accountant for a 6 to 7 month contract working with Whistler Resort Management.   This position provides accounting, administration, and clerical services in an efficient and timely manner.

  • HOURS: 20 to 30 hours per week.

  • SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Strong knowledge of bookkeeping or accounting procedures
    • Knowledge of CRA requirements.
    • Proficient with MS Outlook, Word and Excel, and Accounting software.
    • Attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Good time management, problem solving, and decision making skills.
    • Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
  • RESPONSIBILITIES: 
    • Preparation of bank reconciliations.
    • Update CRF spreadsheet monthly – bank recs & deposits.
    • Preparation of financial statements (including Regular, Interim, Sectioned, Type and Year-end).
    • Respond to agent / council enquiries.
    • Assist with third-party audits as required.
    • Annual property tax payments.
    • Manage department deadlines.
    • Cheque clearing twice monthly.
    • Assist with caretaker payroll, ROE, WCB.
    • Assist with A/P as needed.
    • Assist with A/R as needed.
  • LOCATION: Whistler
  • WAGES: $30 to $34 per hour + 4% vacation pay

TEMP: Bookkeeper

A local accounting firm is looking for someone to assist with bookkeeping and accounts payable for a temporary assignment. Perfect for someone looking for schedule flexibility and to use your bookkeeping skills!

  • POSITION TITLE: Temp Bookkeeper/Accounts Payable
  • DATES, TIMES, SCHEDULE: Ideally starting the week of Monday, August 29th *flexible and ongoing for roughly 2 weeks until project is completed.
    • General business hours are Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm however days and hours are very flexible, so let us know what works for you!
    • Work can be done remotely after in-office training.
    • Must be able to commit to the entire project.
  • DUTIES INCLUDE: Accurate entry of invoices and transactions into QuickBooks Online (accounts payable mostly), simple bank reconciliations, and assisting with other bookkeeping tasks as needed. 
  • SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:  Bookkeeper with 1-2+ years of experience including accounts payable transactions is ideal. Attention to detail and accuracy is most important. Must be familiar with Quickbooks Online. Friendly, hard-working and happy to pitch in where needed.
  • ADDITIONAL DETAILS:  Vaccine passport is required. Must provide your own laptop or work station. Bring a personal mask, water bottle, lunch and snacks.

  • ATTIRE: Office professional – clean and presentable. No jeans or runners. 

WAGES: 

  • Junior Candidates – $23 to $26 per hour plus vacation pay.
  • Experienced Candidates (5+ years of bookkeeping) – $26 to $29 per hour plus vacation pay.
  • Whistler Personnel uses a progressive pay system that awards pay increases based on number of Successful Shifts completed.  The more you work with us, the more you get paid per hour!
    • Tier 1 = $23/$26/hr to start plus 4% vacation pay
    • Tier 2 = $25/$28hr after 10 Successful Shifts plus 4% vacation pay
    • Tier 3 = $26/$29hr after 20 Successful Shifts plus 4% vacation pay
  • Successful Shifts = be on time, work hard and make our clients happy.
  • All shifts in any position worked with WPS count towards a higher Tier for all future shifts.
