About the Role, Benefits & Perks:

The Perfect Candidate: 

  • 2+ years of full cycle bookkeeping experience is required.
  • Education in bookkeeping or accounting is an asset.
  • Excellent time management; able to meet deadlines, work productively and independently.
  • Personable, positive and friendly attitude; able to jump in where needed.
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solver and solution-focused.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills and experience using MS Office Suite, QuickBooks Online and EKOS.

Responsibilities Include: 

  • Assists with regular full-cycle bookkeeping duties.
  • Daily cash-out procedures: collecting, reconciling and recording transactions, troubleshooting errors and omissions.
  • Accounts Payable: posting bills and credit card charges to appropriate accounts, recording payment of bills by appropriate method.
  • Accounts Receivable: assist when needed with creating invoices in EKOS, processing and posting payments.
  • Payroll: new hire entry, timesheet management and entry to payroll software, statutory holiday calculation, staff benefit calculation, WCB reporting.
  • Journal entries as needed.
  • Visa and bank statement reconciliation.
  • Accounting software management: ensure consistency of set up and accuracy of information for Suppliers, Customers, Accounts and Inventory records.
  • All government tax fillings: PST, GST, Excise, Malt Levy.
  • Assist with other general administrative tasks and pitch in where needed during busy times.
