Glamping Lead Hand

Wild Havens Glamping is looking for a friendly, reliable person to join them for the summer season as the Glamping Lead Hand.

Once trained the lead hand will operate independently and without direct supervision from the business owners and will be primarily responsible ensuring the required work is completed in an organized and timely manner.

Sometimes the lead hand will find themselves working on their own but also they may be leading teams of ad hoc staff with varied abilities, enthusiasm and experience. The lead hand must be able to juggle the demands of managing a complex event setup as well making sure staff are doing the work correctly and to a high standard.

We have to work outside in all weather conditions and sometimes long hours. There are some bookings that are a considerable drive which will involve overnight stays either in glamping tents or hotel / motels. Provisional season schedule is available.

About the Role, Benefits & Perks:

  • Monthly salary of $4,700 paid bi-weekly (includes 4% vacation pay).
  • $1,500 bonus paid at the end of season.
  • Schedule is 38 hours a week, less on average.
  • Start date June 16th until September 7th – possibility of starting earlier.

The Perfect Candidate: 

The lead hand should have the following skills and experience:

  • Valid class 5 driving license.

Responsibilities Include: 

The lead hand has the following responsibilities and duties:

  • Setup and and furnish glamping tents correctly and efficiently
  • Liaise with client and venue staff
  • Meet clients expectations in terms of setup schedule and quality
  • Lead a team of up to 4 staff who are often temporary or ad hoc
  • Drive truck and and long trailer and larger vehicles (we can train you)
  • Keen attention for detail with regard to bedding and furnishings
  • Manage and organize inventory from base in Squamish
  • Keep track of any maintenance issues that arise and dealing with linen turnover
  • Occasional washroom trailer delivery and cleaning

Season Overview:

  • We are based out of a yard and warehouse in Squamish.
  • Lots of work at venue’s in Squamish and Pemberton.
  • Long distance weddings  for Calgary, Rock Creek, Cherryville and  Beaverdell.

  • POSITION: OVERNIGHT MANAGER/NIGHT AUDIT
  • DATES:  Flexible – choose your own schedule.  They could be casual 1-off shifts, or contracts for a few weeks at a time
  • HOURS: Approx 11:00pm – 7:30am daily
  • DUTIES:  Perform front desk operations during the night shift, ensuring a warm and professional welcome for all guests.  Handle guest inquiries, calls, check-ins and check-outs efficiently, maintaining accuracy and a high standard of service. Complete regular night audit administrative duties and reports.
  • REQUIREMENTS: Fluent in English, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.  A minimum of 1 year of experience in a front desk, hospitality, or customer service role is ideal but not required.

  • DATES: Flexible – choose your own schedule!  Clients often need 3-4 week contracts for 2-5 days a week.

The Perfect Candidate: 

  • Six months to one-year previous experience in HR or hospitality is preferred

Responsibilities Include: 

The People & Culture Coordinator will support key functions and daily operations of the P&C department at the resort; tasks include but are not limited to:

  • Provide comprehensive administrative support to ensure the smooth day-to-day operations of the People & Culture (P&C) department.
  • Manage internal employee communications, ensuring timely and clear messaging across the organization.
  • Coordinate and maintain employee recognition programs, fostering a culture of appreciation and engagement.
  • Oversee HRIS and data management, including accurate reporting and record maintenance.
  • Support employees with system access and troubleshooting for Workday and ADP time and attendance platforms.
  • Perform Workday administrative tasks, such as managing payment elections and employee data updates.
  • Provide general support to the P&C team on various projects and initiatives as required.
  • Organize employee engagement activities, including Employee of the Month/Year programs and company events.
  • Handle leisure administration and related employee services.

  • Issue employment verification letters and other official documentation.

  • Serve as a point of contact for P&C-related inquiries, providing guidance and support to employees.

Responsibilities Include: 

  • Supervise the Property Inspections team, providing training, guidance, and support to ensure high-quality performance.
  • Conduct routine quality control checks of inspected properties to ensure cleanliness, maintenance, and readiness align with Whistler Platinum’s  standards.
  • Create and update inspection checklists and procedures to maintain consistency across properties.
  • Monitor daily inspection schedules, assigning tasks and adjusting as needed to meet operational demands.
  • Serve as a point of contact for inspectors, providing support in resolving property specific challenges.
  • Collaborate with the Operations Manager and Housekeeping team to address and resolve issues such as property damage, maintenance needs, or guest complaints.
  • Document and report inspection results, highlighting areas for improvement and tracking trends in property conditions.
  • Provide feedback to team members and participate in performance evaluations to foster professional growth.
  • Coordinate with the Guest Services and Maintenance teams to ensure properties are guest-ready prior to arrivals.
  • Assist in onboarding and training new inspectors, ensuring they understand Whistler Platinum’s quality expectations.
  • Perform property inspections as needed, particularly during high-demand periods or for high-priority properties.
  • Contribute to seasonal projects, including inventory checks and updates to property profiles.
