My Sea to Sky Story: Whistler was my last stop on a 3 month Canada-wide adventure, and only because I had a spare couple of days before I’d planned to be in Vancouver to find work. Funnily enough, while standing in an alpine meadow on Whistler Mountain, I wondered why I’d ever leave. And so I didn’t! A Classic Whistler Tale.
Fav Local Activity: How can you only choose one?? Whistler is a year-round cornucopia of amazing activities that take you from the water to the tippy tops of the mountains! I like to do it ALL! But hey, let’s go hiking and snowboarding, the ol’ favs.
Bio: After Uni I got my first hotel front desk, and quickly rose to manager there, before following my itchy travel feet to Japan where I got to try my hand at teaching English in high schools! Back in the UK, I was lucky enough to get a break in the digital marketing landscape, before once again my need for adventure took me to Canada. Hospitality was easy enough to slip back into, and I spent 3 years as a front desk supervisor in the village before finding the amazing team at WPS!
My First job: A barista in a tiny café called the Tutti Pole in a little village in the UK! Frilly skirts and aprons were all part of the package!

My Sea to Sky Story: Winter sports brought me here, and the summer settled me down.
Fav Local Activity: Downhill and Nordic skiing, mountain biking, hiking, SUPing, and yoga.
Bio: Many career shifts along the way – registered dietitian, simultaneous translator, management consulting, corporate brand strategist, full-time mom, and temp coordinator! Hyunjoo spent much of her career hours creating presentations for large corporations and now she talks to real people about real work.

Home Town: Whistler since 1993 Roots: Classic Ontario Girl Alma Mater: Queens University, KIngston ON

Bio: After many years of working and managing in hospitality, sales and marketing, Wendy took a brave leap of faith and bought the Blenz franchise in Whistler. She nurtured it for over a decade as it became a beloved local hang-out until it was sold. In 2017, she agreed to help her friend Jacki out for a week at Whistler and Squamish Personnel, which was growing like crazy, and has not been able to escape ever since.
Fun Fact: Wendy worked her way through Uni temping in Ontario- and has now come full circle!

Home Town: Whistler. Roots: Deep in the woods north of Oliver, BC.
My Sea to Sky Story: Retiring from wine-making in the vineyards of interior BC, I decided to follow my dreams of becoming a full time ski-bum and headed to Whistler for a season. The rest is history.
Fav Local Activity: Definitely hot-tub poaching in the Benchlands with a good bottle of BC red after a hard day on the slopes, preferably with a few chicks.
Bio: Peeps spent her early days burrowing in the hills of the BC vineyards, she went on to complete her education in wine making and spending the majority of her career excelling in the wine industry. Retirement brought her to Whistler and she takes part in many local volunteer activities and sits on the board of a number of charities. Peeps is now part of the Whistler Personnel Solutions team where she acts as career counsellor, advisor and social ambassador.

My Sea to Sky Story: I came to Whistler twenty years ago to be a Nanny and to learn to ski … I am still learning! Fav Local Activity: Anything and everything outdoors!
Bio: Over 15 year of experience on payroll and bookkeeping, admin including administering payroll for over 400 employees at Whistler Personnel and 350 employees at the Gibbons group. Loves to volunteer at local events including Cornucopia and Whistler Film Festival every year and was a Luge Official at the 2020 Olympic Games.

My Whistler Story: Came for a season and staying forever! I’d been skiing here since I was a kid and was looking for a fun job post-university. My first interview when I rolled into town was set up through Whistler Personnel the year the company was launched… and here we are 30 years later!
Bio: Over 30 years of business management experience including human resources in the hospitality, media and communications industries. For over a decade, Jacki managed teams of dishwashers, housekeepers, front desks, night audits, servers, bartenders in hotels and restaurants, eventually serving as the General Manager of two Whistler hotels – the Summit Lodge and Whistler Vacation Club. Then, as the VP and co-owner of a Digital Media and Communications Company for 10+ years, she became a specialist in marketing, human resources and small business ownership.
Jacki also has a passion for volunteering and supporting our community and local non-profits including serving on the Board of Directors of the Canadian Cancer Society Whistler Community Team, Whistler Children Centre and Whistler Housing Authority.

Sea to Sky Story: Growing up 2 hours away from the Sea to Sky I always found myself here on family trips and I fell in love with the area at a young age. It felt natural to move here!
Fav Local Activities: Hiking, cooking/baking, paddle boarding, lake swimming in the summer, forest baths, cross country skiing, beginner downhill skier and potential snowboarder!
Bio: I’ve always loved connecting with people — it’s been the common thread in everything I’ve done. My career in events has taken me through all kinds of roles, from coordinating large-scale festivals to helping bring unforgettable experiences to life from start to finish. After moving up to Whistler, I dove into freelance event staffing and human resources including running a local smoothie shop ~ because why not mix business with berries? Sea to Sky Story: JennaMae came to the Sea to Sky as an amateur snowboarder and quickly found a deep appreciation for the nature and community here. That connection inspired her to grow her creative work – especially through music, hosting and MC-ing. “I love being where the mountains meet the sea and I never want to leave.”
Fav Local Activities: Snowboarding, singing, making music, freediving in the Howe Sound, getting in nature and community.
Bio: IRL JennaMae is an extremely talented, professional musician and lead singer of The Groove Section, a the popular local band . She is also an event production coordinator with the Whistler Summer Concert Series, WB Fire and Ice, Whistler Film Fest, Whistler Pride and many others . In 2017 JennaMae joined Whistler Personnel as a temp worker and quickly became one of our most requested employees ~ so she was an obvious choice to join our core team as a Temp Crew Captain as soon as an opening came up.
JennaMae loves to sample new roles and meet new people: “Over the years, I’ve picked up a diverse mix of experience, from events to guest services to creative projects. I enjoy roles where I can stay adaptable, connect with people, and contribute to meaningful work in the region.”

Home Town: Squamish. Roots: Squamish born and raised! Whoooo Whooooo!
My Sea to Sky Story: Born in the old oak tree at Garibaldi Highlands Elementary, I grew up in the corridor chasing rodents and screaming at the top of my lungs through the quiet neighbourhoods in the middle of the night (just for fun).
Fav Local Activity: Rock climbing and hunting for mice in the crevices, oh and dive-bombing late night dog walkers!
Bio: Squeaks joined the Squamish Personnel team in 2019 and has settled into her position as Team Mascot with feathered flair! Prior to joining the SPS team, Squeaks could be found working pest control, skateboarding around the Railyards, mid-night boldering at Smoke Bluffs Park and hanging out with friends over a campfire on the banks of the Mamquam river. She now spends her days posing for marketing content and making special guest appearances at career fairs.
