Construction Project Manager (w/ Journeyman Carpentry)

The Perfect Candidate:

  • Bidding, estimating, budgeting.
  • RFI Management, subcontract management, purchase order management, shop drawing management, change order management.
  • Project billing review / approval.
  • Risk management and forecasting.
  • Submittal and procurement management.
  • Tracking Subcontractor insurance.
  • Ensuring work is performed safely, in accordance with plans and specifications, and in compliance with local building codes.
  • Daily constructability problem-solving.
  • Onsite quality control throughout project lifecycle.
  • Develop and manage the project schedule, estimates and sub-contractor contracts.
  • Maintaining plans, specifications, as-builts, and other necessary documentation.
  • Managing subcontractors and all related elements (i.e., scheduling, evaluating work performed, safety compliance, submittal review, shop drawings, RFIs).
  • Managing entire site crew and maximizing supplier relationships, keeping communication open and professional
  • Coordinate required inspections with local jurisdiction.
  • Coordinating material deliveries, handling, storage, and placement (with foreman support).
  • Training and directing field crew and conducting performance evaluations.

  • This position is dependent on funding from the Government of Canada’s Young Canada Works in Heritage Program, administered by the Canadian Museums Association (CMA). Thus, the successful candidate must meet the following criteria:
    • be a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident, or have refugee status in Canada (Note: Non-Canadian students holding temporary work visas or awaiting permanent status are not eligible),
    • be legally entitled to work in Canada, be between 16 -30 years of age at the start of employment, have been a full-time student (as defined by his or her educational institution) in the semester preceding the YCW job and be returning to full-time studies in the fall (2024),
    • be registered in the YCW on-line candidate inventory, be willing to commit to the full duration of the work assignment, not have another full-time job (over 30 hours a week) while employed with YCW.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: Visitor Services:

  • Greet all visitors to the museum and connect them to Pemberton history and regional activities.
    Develop fun activities and educational resources for onsite and online visitors including school groups and special events.
  • Assist with creation or improvement of signage, labels and educational materials related to our collection and Pemberton history.
  • Other duties as required including opening and closing the site, maintenance of exhibits and museum grounds, preparation for special events and activities.

Guided Tours:

  • Deliver guided tours to individuals and groups as required, including local school groups.
    Connect visitors to Pemberton history through guided tours that highlight artifacts and information from the Pemberton Museum’s collection.
  • Provide assistance to all visitors to ensure they have access to the museum, its displays, and resources.
  • Recommend and connect visitors to other cultural activities, national historic sites, indigenous cultural centres, and other museums in the Sea to Sky region.
SCHEDULE DETAILS:
  • Full-time, seasonal position. 32 – 40 hours/week: 9:30-5:30 Tuesday to Saturday.
  • The museum is open Tuesday to Saturday from 10am to 5pm between June 3rd and October 27.
SALARY / WAGE RANGE:
  • $17.40 to $18 per hour depending on relevant experience; negotiable.
