  • Assists in monitoring annual deep cleaning and carpet cleaning projects.
  • Inspects rooms and public space using an inspection checklist to ensure each room meets Company Quality Assurance Standards before being placed in the property management system as clean and available.
  • Provides feedback on team member performance to Manager to ensure fair, consistent and corrective/disciplinary action and performance review when necessary.
  • Participates and assists manager in the interview, selection and hiring processes.
  • Conducts training and provides guidance to team members regarding proper and safe cleaning procedures.
  • Ensures team members are up to date with procedures regarding chemical products handling and use of personal protective equipment.
  • Ensures team members have the tools necessary to perform their essential job functions efficiently and safely.
  • Assists with the ordering of supplies as requested.
  • Conducts weekly, monthly and quarterly inventories and reports in a timely manner, according to policy, to include maintaining desired par levels and recording of damaged linen.
  • Assists in ensuring efficient and timely communication with the General Manager, Front Desk Manager and the Facilities Department.
  • Maintains communication with the Facilities department by providing a written work order and/or entering information into the Inigma system.
  • Coordinates with the Front Desk to secure, store and dispose of lost and found items according to provincial law.
  • Acts as department head in absence of manager including tasks such as payroll, scheduling and team supervision.
  • Maintains department QA documentations and uploads it to FTP website.
  • Represents the Housekeeping Department at the Health and Safety Committee meeting.
  • Ensures the cleanliness and organization of the housekeeping office and storage rooms.
  • Completes scheduling, timekeeping and payroll duties in the absence of Manager.

Caretaker – Facility Services

The Caretaker/Facility Services is responsible for the general upkeep, repairs, and maintenance of a 22-acre retreat property in Whistler.  The role requires a hands-on individual with experience in property maintenance, someone who has the ability to respond to emergencies, and a commitment to ensuring a welcoming, safe, and operational environment for guests year-round.

This includes overseeing the functionality of guest accommodations, maintaining the farm, caring for outdoor spaces, ensuring that the infrastructure (septic systems, water treatment systems, roads, and pathways) is operating smoothly, and maintaining light equipment and tools.

Responsibilities Include: 

Building Maintenance:

  • Perform regular inspections, maintenance, and repairs on all buildings, the maintenance building, and any additional structures.
  • Conduct repairs such as plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, painting, and general upkeep.
  • Ensure heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), and water systems are functioning properly.

Infrastructure Oversight:

  • Maintain and monitor the septic systems and water treatment systems for functionality and regulatory compliance.
  • Maintain access roads and pathways, including clearing snow in winter and ensuring safety year-round.

Farm & Outdoor Space:

  • Assist in the upkeep of the retreat’s farm, including some animal care, basic farming duties, and maintaining farm equipment.
  • Maintain outdoor landscapes such as lawns, gardens, and forested areas to keep the property looking well-kept and safe.

Light Equipment & Tool Maintenance:

  • Perform regular maintenance and minor repairs on light equipment (e.g., lawnmowers, tractors, snow blowers).
  • Ensure tools and machinery are in good working condition, performing routine checks, sharpening, and cleaning as necessary.
  • Maintain an inventory of tools and parts, and coordinate with suppliers for repairs or replacements.

Seasonal Responsibilities:

  • Prepare the property for seasonal changes, including managing snow removal, salting pathways, clearing drainage systems in the fall, and landscaping in the spring and summer.

Emergency Response:

  • Be on-call for property emergencies such as power outages, water or septic system failures, or storm damage, responding promptly to ensure minimal disruption for guests.

Guest Interaction:

  • Interact with retreat guests as needed, ensuring their comfort and safety by responding to maintenance requests promptly.
  • Provide basic information about the property and its amenities.

TEMP: 3 Week Tour Receptionist

If you’re potentially looking for a long term gig (but also maybe just want short-term work for the time being), and customer facing roles and admin is your bag, this 3 week tour receptionist contract may be PERFECT for you!

  • POSITION:  Tour Receptionist
  • SCHEDULE:  Tue-Sat from March 5th for 3 weeks.  12:00pm-8:00pm
  • NOTES:  Preference will be given to workers who can commit to the entire project.   
  • DUTIES: Reception and administrative work. Includes assisting with the checking guests in and out of presentations, gifting guests, emails, phone calls, setting up and tearing down refreshments, data entry, inventory management and pitching in where needed.
  • REQUIRED: Excellent customer service skills – friendly, hardworking and happy to pitch in where needed. Two years of admin experience with strong computer skills – primarily Microsoft Office. Strong spoken and written communication skills (English).
  • ATTIRE: Professional Office Attire – blouse, button-up shirt, pressed slacks or dress. Clean, professional appearance with long hair tied back and non-slip close-toed shoes. No shorts, torn jeans, loud brands or graphics.
  • LOCATION: Chateau Blvd, Whistler, BC

WAGES:  $20 to $24 per hour plus 4%vacation pay.

  • Whistler Personnel uses a progressive pay system that awards pay increases based on number of Successful Shifts completed.  The more you work with us, the more you get paid per hour! Successful Shifts = be on time, work hard and make our clients happy.
  • Receptionist Wage:
    • Tier 1 (new hire) = $20/hr
    • Tier 2 (after 10 shifts) = $22/hr
    • Tier 3  (after 20 shifts) = $24/hr

  • DUTIES INCLUDE: Assisting with the checkin and checkout of guests, answering inquiries, general administration, coordinate with other departments, offer concierge services and pitching in where needed.
  • SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Strong customer service and administrative background, quick to learn new computer programs. Friendly, hard-working and happy to pitch in where needed.
  • WAGE: $22-$24/hr

WAGES:   $20-$24/hr

The Perfect Candidate:

  • Assisting the Front Office Manager in all aspects of Front Office operations
  • Ensuring that all front-of-house staff provide excellent guest service that meets or exceeds the standards and policies of the hotel.
  • In collaboration with Front Office Manager, creating and entering schedules in for employees.
  • Motivating Front Office staff members to achieve consistently superior guest service, including training, coaching, and performance reviews.
  • Liaising with the Housekeeping and Maintenance Departments to ensure outstanding guest satisfaction.
  • Assisting with inventory management and reporting as required.
  • Working with Front Office Manager to ensure that budgeted revenues are attained and costs are controlled.
  • Assisting the Credit Manager in dealing with guest billing concerns.
