Whistler Personnel uses a progressive pay system that awards pay increases based on number of Successful Shifts completed. The more you work with us, the more you get paid per hour! After you complete 10 probationary shifts, you get a $2/hr wage bump – then you get another bump after 20 shifts for being a HERO!

MINIMUM BASE WAGES—no experience needed:

  • Proby (Tier 1) = $20hr to start plus 4% vacation pay
  • Regular (Tier2) = $22/hr after 10 Successful Shifts
  • Hero (Tier 3) = $24/hr after 20 Successful Shifts

HAVE EXPERIENCE?—earn higher base wages! For example;

  • Experienced Room Attendants currently: $24-$28/hr
  • Experienced Construction  Labourers Currently: $25-$29/hr

We have openings for Front Desk and Night Audit Agents through our Temp Program at various local hotels. If you have experience in hospitality, this could be your perfect side hustle!   Wages are from $22/hr to $30/hr based on experience and number of shifts completed, and some positions can be ongoing for the right  candidate.

Here are a sample of the current openings:

  • POSITION: OVERNIGHT MANAGER/NIGHT AUDIT
  • DATES:  Flexible – choose your own schedule.  They could be casual 1-off shifts, or contracts for a few weeks at a time
  • HOURS: Approx 11:00pm – 7:30am daily
  • DUTIES:  Perform front desk operations during the night shift, ensuring a warm and professional welcome for all guests.  Handle guest inquiries, calls, check-ins and check-outs efficiently, maintaining accuracy and a high standard of service. Complete regular night audit administrative duties and reports.
  • REQUIREMENTS: Fluent in English, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.  A minimum of 1 year of experience in a front desk, hospitality, or customer service role is ideal but not required.
  • POSITION: FRONT DESK AGENT
  • DATES: Flexible – choose your own schedule!  Clients often need 3-4 week contracts for 2-5 days a week.
  • HOURS: Example shifts varying between 7am-3.30pm/ 11am-7.30pm/ 3pm-11.30pm
  • DUTIES: Assist guests with check-in, check-out, and taking payments in a friendly manner. Answering inquiries, general administration, coordinating with other departments. Light admin duties, and pitching in where needed. Training provided.
  • SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS: Strong customer service and administrative background on a hotel front desk preferred but not required.  Quick to learn new computer programs and experience using property management software beneficial (training will be provided).   • Minimum of two years’ experience in a customer service environment.
  • Previous experience in a similar role in a similar size/type of property.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
  •  Provide prompt and efficient check in and out while adhering to Westin standards.
  • Upsell rooms and suggest the use of outlets on the property.
  • Solicit qualified new members for the Marriott Bonvoy preferred guest program.
  • Provide various concierge services when concierge is unavailable.
  • Explain services and packages available within the hotel.
  • Follow basic accounting principles: collect, post, verify and be able to explain all charges on a guest’s room account.
  • Process express check outs and delayed charges.
  • Control security measures by observing and reporting any unusual activities and potential problems.
  • Conduct business center activities such as photocopying, faxing, printing and occasional admin duties.
  • Handle all telephone calls while maintaining Westin’s operating procedures.
  • Utilize knowledge of other departments to transfer calls efficiently and effectively to increase sales and customer satisfaction.
  • Troubleshoot deficiencies and assign maintenance tasks as needed.
  • Assign guest request to appropriate associate/department.
  • Maintain knowledge of In Room Dining menu and procedure and adhere to these procedures.
  • Balance personal audit at the end of each shift.
  • Follow basic accounting principles including all credit procedures.
  • Use Microsoft Office, Galaxy and Lightspeed.
  • Comply with WRS’s Occupational Health and Safety Program and the Regulations of WorkSafeBC.
  • Report any unsafe conditions, practices or injuries to their supervisor as soon as possible.
  • Set a good safety example.
  • You may be required to stand for an 8 hour shift.
  • Occasional physical labour will be required to carry boxes of paper and other stock.
  • Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment.
  • All other duties as assigned.
SCHEDULE DETAILS:
  • Full time, 40 hours/week. .
  • 8 hours/day, 5 days a week.
  • Shift time 11pm-7am, week days/weekends.
  • On site work, no remote options.
SALARY / WAGE RANGE:
  • $21 per hour.
