Website Pangea Pod

Offering flexible schedule, discounts, seasons pass, and more.

Join Pangea, a groundbreaking new pod hotel in the heart of Whistler’s pedestrian Village.  Currently seeking a Night Front Desk Agent who can take the helm of its flagship hotel through the midnight hours. You’ll be the night owl who keeps things running smoothly while the world sleeps – the hero of the quadruple-zero who smiles serenely from dusk till dawn, carrying out tasks with minimal fuss.

You’re a fast-starting, self-motivated ‘doer’. And needless to say, you’re as comfortable interacting with an international clientele as you are burning the midnight oil. You’re friendly and approachable, with a presence that reassures and soothes guests when they’re feeling tired, hungry, and perhaps even a little bit stressed. You’re the one who makes them feel at ease after an arduous journey.

The role requires a true ambassador for the Pangea brand, so you’re also someone who exudes enthusiasm, courteousness and positivity. You’re capable of showing empathy with guests and co-workers, and you’re always willing to help and pitch in. Above all, you’re someone who shares in our vision of success for the Pangea project, actively contributing ideas and making improvements that shape our future and realize our ambitions for dynamic growth.

About the Role, Benefits & Perks:

  • Full-time, year round.
  • Whistler, BC.
  • Compensation, starting at $27/hr ($24/hr base wage + $3/hr retention bonus)
  • Season ski pass (for those staying through the winter season).
  • Staff housing in Alpine.
  • Significant food and beverage discounts at our cafe and bar.
  • Flexible schedules (because you’re here to enjoy Whistler too).
  • Unique work environment.
  • Plenty of room to grow with the company.

The Perfect Candidate:

  • Must have current eligibility to work legally in Canada
  • A killer attitude and a genuine smile

Responsibilities Include:

  • As Night Manager you’ll be responsible for helping guests check in and out of the hotel outside normal hours, as well as helping them understand how Pangea works – including its house rules.
  • Depending on the hour of their arrival you’ll also be advising them on how to get the best out of their stay and helping them to get oriented with the hotel and the Village.
  • Your other chief responsibility is nightly security; you’ll be securing certain areas of the hotel last thing at night, keeping an eye on them through the small hours, and then opening them up again in the morning.
  • Of course, you’ll also be keeping a close eye on who’s coming in and out of the hotel throughout the night (denying entry to non-guests), and reporting on any activity that might be considered ‘untoward’.

The Working Environment At Pangea.

There’s nothing ordinary about our hotel (in fact it’s pretty exceptional), so why would our working environment be? Our employees are expected to have fun as well as work hard, to get to know our guests rather than just serve them, and to enjoy every day at the hotel. We want them to relish the challenges that come their way and take personal satisfaction from their achievements.

We actively encourage our employees to use their initiative, be creative, and challenge the status quo – if there’s something Pangea could do differently to achieve its goals more quickly or effectively, we want our employees to do or say something about it. We expect them to be proactive, determined, and willing to pitch in.

In return we offer real opportunities to progress at one of the most exciting hospitality projects in Canada (in one of the most famous mountain resorts on the planet).

Our aim is to be the metaphorical melting pot of Whistler – a place where our guests can relax and socialize over a coffee, craft beer or cocktail, swapping tips from the slopes and sharing stories of their adventures.
