TEMP: Everesting 29029 Event Work

Everesting 29029 is back and needs people ready to get involved with some fun event work!

This unique event will be coming back to Whistler for the 22nd + 23rd August, and features hundreds of elite athletes Ascending Blackcomb until they reach 29,029 vertical feet  – equal to climbing the highest mountain in the world!

Get involved in this amazing event, and earn Progressive Wages of $22 to $26/hour PLUS vacation pay, overtime rates and the potential for perks and rewards!  You can earn up to $442 per shift!

POSITION:  Aid Station Manager

  • SHIFTS:
    • Fri Aug 22nd = 4am- 10am (6hrs + BONUS)
    • Fri Aug 22nd = 9am-9pm (12hrs = 4hrs OT pay)
    • Fri Aug 22nd = 8pm-7am (11hrs = 3hrs OT pay + BONUS)
    • Sat Aug 23rd = 6am-8pm (14hrs = 6hrs OT pay + BONUS)
  • BREAKS: Breaks are paid and require the employee to stay on-site.
  • DUTIES INCLUDE:  Assist participants and volunteers at aid stations including maintaining a clean and safe workspace, cheering on participants throughout the event and pitching in where needed.  Also includes set up and take down of the aid stations and equipment before and after the event.
  • SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Must be energetic, friendly, hard-working and happy to pitch in where needed.  Also must be physically capable to work on your feed for long periods and lift moderately heavy loads.
  • LOCATION: Aid stations are situated at different elevations on the Blackcomb mountain course in Whistler, BC.
  • ATTIRE: Dress for the weather, rain or shine, as you’ll be mostly outdoors!
  • EXTRA: Meal box, snacks, & event T-Shirt provided!

WAGES:  *no prior experience necessary

Whistler Personnel uses a progressive pay system that awards pay increases based on number of Successful Shifts completed.  The more you work with us, the more you get paid per hour! An extra 4% vacation pay is paid out on every cheque on top of the wages.

  • Tier 1 (new hire) = $20/hr
  • Tier 2 (11+ shifts) = $22/hr
  • Tier 3 (21+ shifts) = $24/hr
    • PLUS AN EXTRA $2/HR BONUS for shifts that start before 7am or work past 11pm
    • PLUS OVERTIME of 1.5 x the hourly wage (equal to $30 – $37.50/hr) when working more than 8 hrs per day

OFA attendants are superheroes on every job site – as the safety professional boasting a First Aid certification between 1-3, the Sea-to-Sky always has a need of your expertise! About the Role, Benefits & Perks:

JOB TITLE: Maintenance Technician
LOCATION: Whistler, BC
TYPE OF EMPLOYMENT: Full Time
JOB SUMMARY:
  • Full-time: 40 hours per week
  • 5 x 8-hour shifts: rotation of AM/PM shifts.
  • $25 per hour to start with room for growth.
  • Staff housing available.

THE PERFECT CANDIDATE – Qualifications & Skills: To fulfill this role successfully, you must possess the following minimum qualifications and experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of six (6) months of experience in the maintenance field preferred.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
  • Troubleshoots and completes minor repairs, including painting, on all Vacation Home appliances and ensuring everything is in proper working order.
  • Observes the buildings and grounds to identify items that require maintenance attention and makes the necessary steps to resolve any findings.
  • Identifies and orders materials and supplies as needed.
  • Consistently practices and maintains the highest standards of professionalism when interacting with fellow team members, management, owners, members and prospects.
SCHEDULE DETAILS:
  • Full-time: 40 hours per week
