One of Whistler’s most progressive non-profit organizations committed to ending youth homelessness in BC for over 20 years, is looking for a part-time Finance Coordinator to join their dynamic team.

Offering a very flexible part-time schedule plus extended health benefits and RRSP matching after probationary period.

About the Role, Benefits & Perks:  

  • Part-time, around16 hours per week with lots of schedule flexibility.  Open to freelance contract arrangement.
  • $26 to $30+ per hour depending on experience; negotiable.
  • Extended health benefits after 3-months.
  • RRSP matching after 12-months.
  • 10 personal days per year.

The Perfect Candidate: 

  • 2+ years of experience in finance, bookkeeping or accounting is preferred.
  • Strong computer skills including MS Office Suite, Quickbooks Online plus the ability to navigate and learn new systems (technology savvy).
  • Ability to self-motivate, work independently, and organize work and time efficiently.
  • Good communicator with the ability to problem solve.
  • Organized with good time management; able to prioritize and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities Include: 

  • Contribute to the organization’s overall success by effectively carrying out the financial tasks for the organization.
  • Develop and maintain financial accounting systems for accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Assist with payroll processing and compliance.
  • Implement new expense software, including training staff.
  • Conduct monthly variance reporting.
  • Prepare cash flow forecasts.
  • Ensure that capital assets are properly recorded, amortized, and disposed of as appropriate.
  • Liaise with the Co-Executive Directors, Treasurer, and Finance Committee as appropriate.
