Whistler Personnel uses a progressive pay system that awards pay increases based on number of Successful Shifts completed. The more you work with us, the more you get paid per hour! After you complete 10 probationary shifts, you get a $2/hr wage bump – then you get another bump after 20 shifts for being a HERO!

MINIMUM BASE WAGES—no experience needed:

  • Proby (Tier 1) = $20hr to start plus 4% vacation pay
  • Regular (Tier2) = $22/hr after 10 Successful Shifts

The Caretaker/Facility Services is responsible for the general upkeep, repairs, and maintenance of a 22-acre retreat property in Whistler.  The role requires a hands-on individual with experience in property maintenance, someone who has the ability to respond to emergencies, and a commitment to ensuring a welcoming, safe, and operational environment for guests year-round.

Building Maintenance:

  • Ensure heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), and water systems are functioning properly.

Infrastructure Oversight:

  • Maintain and monitor the septic systems and water treatment systems for functionality and regulatory compliance.
  • Maintain access roads and pathways, including clearing snow in winter and ensuring safety year-round.

Farm & Outdoor Space:

Light Equipment & Tool Maintenance:

  • Perform regular maintenance and minor repairs on light equipment (e.g., lawnmowers, tractors, snow blowers).
  • Ensure tools and machinery are in good working condition, performing routine checks, sharpening, and cleaning as necessary.
  • Maintain an inventory of tools and parts, and coordinate with suppliers for repairs or replacements.

Seasonal Responsibilities:

  • Prepare the property for seasonal changes, including managing snow removal, salting pathways, clearing drainage systems in the fall, and landscaping in the spring and summer.

Emergency Response:

  • Be on-call for property emergencies such as power outages, water or septic system failures, or storm damage, responding promptly to ensure minimal disruption for guests.

Guest Interaction:

  • Interact with retreat guests as needed, ensuring their comfort and safety by responding to maintenance requests promptly.

WORK ASSIGNMENT AVAILABLE: 

HARVESTERS AND PACKAGERS – PEMBERTON

  • DATES:  Flexible schedule – pick your own dates!

  • SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:  No prior experience necessary.  Enjoys working outdoors and getting their hands dirty.   Physically fit, friendly, hard-working and happy to pitch in where needed.
  • ATTIRE:  STEEL TOED BOOTS are required for farm labour shifts (but not the fall harvesting shifts).  Outdoor shifts so dress accordingly – wear sun protection and waterproof layers.  Bring water bottle, lunch  and snacks. Rubber boots and gardening gloves recommended – and bring a clean, dry pair of shoes as well.  Long hair tied back.

WAGE: $24-$26/HR AND 4% VACATION PAY 

Whistler Personnel uses a progressive pay system that awards pay increases based on number of Successful Shifts completed.  The more you work with us, the more you get paid per hour!
  • Tier 1 = $22/hr to start plus 4% vacation pay
  • Tier 2 = $24/hr after 5 successful shifts plus 4% vacation pay
  • Tier 3 = $26/hr after 10 successful shifts plus 4% vacation pay
  • PLUS EXTRA $2/HR for Last Minute SUPERHEROES

TEMP: Farm Planter and Workers – Pemberton *housing avail

A beautiful organic farm in the Pemberton Valley, Blue House Organics, needs help getting this seasons’ crop planted.   They have openings for 8 farm workers who can start right away and don’t mind getting their hands dirty – literally!

 This is a great opportunity to work outdoors for the next 4-6 weeks or even all  summer long.  Schedule is flexible and wage is  $25/hr based with prior experience plus a $500 BONUS at the end of the planting project for hard workers.

About the Role:

  • Shifts are Monday – Friday from 8am to 5pm with plenty of breaks.
  • Flexible schedule, working 3-5 days a week (full time is preferred).
  • Starting immediately until planting is complete in 4-6 weeks with an opportunity to stay until fall if interested.
  • Beautiful organic farm in Pemberton where you can learn about growing and harvesting beautiful organic veggies:  kale, broccoli, broccolini & beats.
  • Affordable Housing is available on the farm:  $200/week for a shared room or $250/week for a private room.
  • Excellent wage at $25/hour for those with at least one season of planting experience.
  • Newbies receive $20/hour training wage and $22/hour after 10 shifts.
  • Bonus of up to $500 available for hard workers who stay until the planting season is completed.

The Perfect Candidate:

  • Prior planting or farming experience is beneficial
  • A passion for organic farming is ideal!
  • Experience with basic farm equipment and driving tractors also beneficial.
  • Enjoys working outdoors in any weather and getting hands dirty.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Physically capable of working on their feet for long periods of time.
  • Friendly, hard-working and happy to pitch in where needed.
  • Must wear water-proof clothing that is okay getting dirty with tall boots, hats, gloves and sun protection .

Responsibilities Include:

  • Planting seeds in the field  primarily.
  • May also include assisting with soil preparation, operating farm equipment and preparing beds with tractors.
  • Some heavy lifting and general farm labouring may be required.
  • Outdoors and on your feet most of the day.
  • Help out with general farm hand duties as required.

  • Spring, Summer and Fall landscaping including but not limited to raking, mowing, trimming, pruning, weeding, clean up of debris and all other aspects of lawn and garden care.
  • Safe operation of landscaping tools and equipment.
  • Works well alone and also enjoys being part of a team.
