Whistler Personnel uses a progressive pay system that awards pay increases based on number of Successful Shifts completed. The more you work with us, the more you get paid per hour! After you complete 10 probationary shifts, you get a $2/hr wage bump – then you get another bump after 20 shifts for being a HERO!

MINIMUM BASE WAGES—no experience needed:

  • Proby (Tier 1) = $20hr to start plus 4% vacation pay
  • Regular (Tier2) = $22/hr after 10 Successful Shifts
  • Hero (Tier 3) = $24/hr after 20 Successful Shifts

HAVE EXPERIENCE?—earn higher base wages! For example;

Adpative Instructors – Snowsports (Whistler), Swim (Squamish)

The Whistler Adaptive Sports Program is a not-for-profit charity committed to creating inclusive opportunities for individuals with disabilities and neurodiversities.  They believe that everyone should have the chance to experience the freedom, joy, and connection that comes from sports, recreation, and outdoor adventure in the Sea to Sky corridor.

WAS offers multiple different sports programs, between Pemberton, Whistler and Squamish, and are currently looking for both Adaptive Swim Instructors and Adaptive Snowsports Instructors to join their team.

ADAPTIVE SNOWSPORTS INSTRUCTORS  – Whistler

The Adaptive Snowsports Instructors are responsible for teaching adaptive ski/snowboard lessons utilising approved CADS teaching methodology, whilst ensuring quality and safe adaptive lessons.  Under the supervision of the Head Coach of Whistler Adaptive.

About the Role, Benefits & Perks:

  • Full-time & Part-time work available.
  • 3 positions – 5 days a week.
  • 1 position – 3 days a week.
  • Mid December 2025   – March 31st  2026.
  • End date may be extended if available.
  • $22.50-25.50/hr + commensurate on experience and certifications.
  • Season Pass for Whistler Blackcomb.
  • Training opportunities for CADS certifications.

The Perfect Candidate: 

  • Advanced skiing or riding abilities.
  • Strong ability to adapt teaching methods.
  • CSIA or CASI certifications or international equivalent (Minimum Level 1).
  • CADS certifications or international equivalent teaching adaptive skiers an asset.
  • Mandatory background check.
  • First aid certification.
  • Strong team member with willingness to use initiative, collaborate and problem solve.

Responsibilities Include: 

  • Teach a variety of adaptive ski or snowboard lessons for the WAS Alpine Program.
  • Communication with WAS athletes and their families pertaining to weekly lessons.
  • Support the Program Coordinator with communication and positive engagement with volunteers assigned to alpine lessons.
  • Attend all required pre -season training and ongoing training during the season.
  • Keep daily attendance and reports of lessons.
  • Assist with raising awareness of WAS and being an ambassador on the mountain.
  • Equipment maintenance and care as required.
  • Perform other such duties as may be assigned.
  • Required to work outdoors in Winter conditions.
  • Work can be both physically and emotionally challenging working with diverse populations.
  • Weekend work essential part of role.

 

ADAPTIVE SWIM INSTRUCTOR – Squamish

Swimming is a life-saving skill and a source of joy, confidence, and independence.  Seeking a compassionate and skilled Adaptive Swim Instructor to join their team, and make a meaningful impact in the lives of individuals with disabilities.  Reporting to the Lead Coach in Squamish lessons will be delivered at Brennan Park Squamish.

About the Role, Benefits & Perks:

  • Part-time, casual.
  • 4hrs/week.
  • $23-$26 hr based on experience.
  • Applications Close:  September 30th, 2025.
  • Must be a Canadian Resident or hold a valid Work Permit.

The Perfect Candidate: 

  • Experienced and skilled swimmer.
  • Previous experience instructing swim lessons for individuals with disabilities and neurodiversities is an asset.
  • Satisfactory criminal record check is mandatory prior to commencement of employment.
  • First Aid certification is required.

One or more of the following certifications is required:

  • Lifesaving society of Canada Swimming Instructor Certification.
  • Swim Canada Community Coach Certification and/or higher level of Swim Canada NCCP Certifications.
  • Special Olympics Competition Sport Coaching Certification.
  • Or equivalent international experience and/or certification.

Responsibilities Include: 

  • Teach adaptive swim lessons to individuals with physical disabilities and neurodiversities in a ‘one on one’ or group setting.

TEMP: OTILLO Event Crew

ÖTILLÖ Swimrun is coming to Whistler and they need YOU! Join this amazing event on July 6th and be part of what makes extreme events and races SO amazing…and get paid while you do it!

Participants in the Swimrun choose between 3 distances: 4miles, 10.6miles, or 23.8miles, completed via a mixture of exactly what the title suggests: swimming and running! We have shifts available supporting this event both on the water and on land, a unique opportunity!

Progressive Wage of $20 to $34/hour plus vacation pay, overtime rates and the potential for perks and rewards!  Which means that you can earn over $400 per shift whilst having the best time!


POSITION: Water Safety Support

  • DATE: Sunday, July 6th
  • TIMES: Various shift options –
    • 6.30am-10.30am (4hrs)
    • 7am-11am (4hrs)
    • 7am-3pm (8hrs)
    • 8.30am-1.30pm (5hrs)
    • 9am-1pm (4hrs)
    • 10am-3pm (5hrs)
  • DUTIES: Support water safety for participants during the SwimRun event by providing shoreline or on-water monitoring via YOUR OWN kayak or SUP. Responsibilities include staying alert, assisting distressed participants if necessary, and communicating any concerns to event officials. Full details on duties will be provided via video training before the event.
  • SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Must bring your own SUP/kayak and PFD (lifejacket).
    • A basic understanding of first aid is required (formal certification is NOT mandatory).
    • Must be physically able to assist a swimmer onto the SUP/kayak or support them to shore where advanced first aid can be provided.
    • Previous water safety, lifeguarding, or paddling experience preferred.
    • Reliable, proactive, and safety-minded attitude essential.
  • ADDITIONAL DETAILS: You’ll be patrolling either Alpha, Nita, Alta, Lost or Green lake.
  • WAGE: $24-$28/hr + 4% vacation pay
    • Proby (Tier 1) = $24/hr to start
    • Regular (Tier2) = $26/hr after 10 Successful Shifts
    • Hero (Tier 3) = $28/hr after 20 Successful Shifts
  • BONUS: +$4/hr in addition to the wages above for bringing your own watercraft and lifejacket!

POSITION: Team Lead/Coordinator

  • DATE: Sunday, July 6th
  • TIMES: 6am-2pm OR 6.30am-3pm
  • DUTIES: The Event Coordinator will serve as the on-site lead for one of two teams (the Aid Station & Flagger staff), acting as the main liaison between the event organizers and the workers on shift. It will be your responsibility to ensure all staff arrive and leave on time, and troubleshoot any issues throughout the day whilst helping out at the start/finish line.
  • SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Previous experience coordinating endurance or sports-related events.
    • Strong communication and organizational skills.
    • Must be confident leading a team and managing logistics in a fast-paced, public-facing environment.
    • Professional, proactive, and calm under pressure.
  • LOCATION: Whistler Mountain Ski Club (Start/finish line)
  • WAGE: $26-$30/hr + 4% vacation pay
    • Proby (Tier 1) = $26/hr to start

POSITION: Aid Station Crew

  • DATE: Sunday, July 6th

    • 9am-1pm (4hrs)
  • DUTIES: Support participants along the course by ensuring hydration stations are consistently stocked with water, keeping the area clean and organized, and offering cheerful guidance as needed. You’ll also be responsible for helping direct participants along the route and pitching in wherever event support is needed.
  • SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Must have basic knowledge of Whistler Village and general course layout
    • Friendly, confident, and comfortable speaking with the public
    • Able to stand for extended periods and work independently
    • Willingness to assist other team members as needed
  • ADDITIONAL DETAILS: You’ll be located at various aid stations/water stops through Whistler
  • WAGE: $20-$24/hr + 4% vacation pay

  • SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:

Administering first aid when necessary. Performing other duties and pitching in where needed.
  • REQUIRED: CSO or OFA3 certification with an experience on a construction site. Good communication skills, both written and oral. Organized, ability to keep detailed records. Knowledge of industry standards and regulations. Experience as a tradesperson is beneficial.
  • ATTIRE: Steel-toed boots and PPE are required.

WAGES:  $30 to $34 per hour plus vacation pay.

PRIDE: Pool Party Lifeguards

Join us at one of Whistler’s most exciting and extravagant parties: Whistler PRIDE and SKI Festival. Born  as Gay Ski Week over 30 years ago, it’s a  celebration of diversity and acceptance attended by folks from over 26 nations.  And a celebration it is!! Pool parties, a comedy night and the notorious SNOWBALL…  It’s a week packed full of fun that welcomes EVERYONE!

BC Certified Lifeguards

  • Date and Time: Thursday, January 26th at 8:00pm-3:00am.
  • Duties: Assisting at the SPLASH Pool Party Event! Duties include assisting to load in and take down at the event, and actively supervising the pool participants during the event. Security staff will be on site and Lifeguards are not required to act as security.
  • Qualifications:
  • Must be BC Certified – we will require a copy of your current certification.
  • Experience working as a lifeguard is required.
  • Friendly, outgoing and eager to help and willing to pitch in where needed.

Wages and Perks:

  • $35/hour plus 4% vacation pay.
  • Please note that WPS tiered wages do no apply for this position (it’s off the charts!).
  • BONUS: Mileage will be paid to travel from Squamish or Vancouver. Transportation can also be arranged if needed.
