About the Role, Benefits & Perks:

  • Full-time, long-term, 40 hours per week.
  • Schedule: 1:00pm to 9:30pm x 5 days per week.
  • Salary of up to $67,000 per year based on experience.

The Perfect Candidate: 

  • 2+ years experience in a management position within a retail or grocery store is preferred.
  • Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Results-focused leader; the ability to delegate, inspire and communicate effectively.
  • Create a positive workplace by developing relationships and engaging colleagues.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with colleagues, customers and suppliers.
  • Good time management; able to prioritize and keep up with needs of the department.
  • Knowledge of health and safety legislation, policies and practices.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment under pressure.
  • Physical demands of this position include frequent lifting, standing, walking, kneeling, bending, and reaching.
  • Valid Driver’s License is required.

Responsibilities Include: 

  • Ensure the night operations of the store room smoothly, help out where needed and provide employee guidance and support.
  • Ensure that company policies, WCB regulations, Health and Safety policies, as well as Foodsafe are adhered to.
  • Assisting fellow employees in various departments as needed.
  • Finding work for employees to do when they are not busy.’ Organizing carts for grocery staff to put out at night.
  • Making sure that the store is clean both inside and outside and that buggy runs are done regularly.
  • Garbage is removed, the recycling centre is in good shape and regularly cleaned. Floors need to be cleaned (this is done
    daily in the winter and every other day in the summer months).
  • Temperature Checks done daily.
  • Monitoring Equipment to make sure it is operating properly.
  • Back up for picking online orders for pick up or delivery and delivering them.
