Wild Havens Glamping is looking for a friendly, reliable person to join them for the summer season as the Glamping Lead Hand.

Once trained the lead hand will operate independently and without direct supervision from the business owners and will be primarily responsible ensuring the required work is completed in an organized and timely manner.
Sometimes the lead hand will find themselves working on their own but also they may be leading teams of ad hoc staff with varied abilities, enthusiasm and experience. The lead hand must be able to juggle the demands of managing a complex event setup as well making sure staff are doing the work correctly and to a high standard.
We have to work outside in all weather conditions and sometimes long hours. There are some bookings that are a considerable drive which will involve overnight stays either in glamping tents or hotel / motels. Provisional season schedule is available.
About the Role, Benefits & Perks:
- Monthly salary of $4,700 paid bi-weekly (includes 4% vacation pay).
- $1,500 bonus paid at the end of season.
- Schedule is 38 hours a week, less on average.
- Start date June 16th until September 7th – possibility of starting earlier.
- Ad hoc work possible at the beginning and end of the season.
- Use of company equipment.
The Perfect Candidate:
The lead hand should have the following skills and experience:
- Valid class 5 driving license.
- Problem solving skills.
- Able to work long hours in testing conditions.
- Happy to lead and manage a small team of staff.
- Physically fit and able to take on significant manual labor.
- Housekeeping experience is beneficial.
- Be available to work June – September.
- Based in Squamish, preference given to Squamish residents.
We provide on the job training for all glamping, event rental, and tent setup experience.
For the right candidate we can provide trailer driving training.
Responsibilities Include:
The lead hand has the following responsibilities and duties:
- Setup and and furnish glamping tents correctly and efficiently
- Liaise with client and venue staff
- Meet clients expectations in terms of setup schedule and quality
- Lead a team of up to 4 staff who are often temporary or ad hoc
- Drive truck and and long trailer and larger vehicles (we can train you)
- Keen attention for detail with regard to bedding and furnishings
- Manage and organize inventory from base in Squamish
- Keep track of any maintenance issues that arise and dealing with linen turnover
- Occasional washroom trailer delivery and cleaning
Season Overview:
- We are based out of a yard and warehouse in Squamish.
- Lots of work at venue’s in Squamish and Pemberton.
- Long distance weddings for Calgary, Rock Creek, Cherryville and Beaverdell.
- Festivals at BC, Sunfest, Valhalla in Terrace and Roots and Blues in Kamloops
- July is busy. August less busy.
