One of Whistler’s leaders in providing energy efficient and sustainable buildings is looking for a Lead Interior Designer to join their collaborative team.  Offering a starting salary in the range of $28 – $35 per hour depending on experience, annual wellness benefit, 4-week paid vacation per year plus a warm and friendly work environment.  Ideally suited for someone with experience in sustainable interior design with extraordinary administrative, organizational and customer service skills.

About the Role, Benefits & Perks:

  • Full Time, year-round, Monday to Friday 8:30am to 5:00pm.
  • Salary starting in the range of $28 – $35 per hour depending on experience.
  • Hybrid model with a mix of in-office and work-from-home.

The Perfect Candidate:

  • Experienced as a lead interior designer in a client facing role.
  • Diploma or Bachelor of Interior Design is preferred.
  • Experience and ease of reading and producing full sets of construction drawings, specifications sheets and presentation moodboards.
  • Proficiency in multiple software platforms an asset; ArchiCAD, Bluebeam, Rendering.
  • Excellent team communication skills, design presentation and the ability to  building/managing client relationships through project life cycle.
  • Highly motivated, proactive and passionate about design and working with clients.
  • Well-organized and detail oriented.
  • Ability to work independently, multi task and prioritize workload.
  • Open to collaboration with colleagues, propose creative ideas on how to design healthy and comfortable interiors.
  • Experience with residential renovations and new builds.
  • Experience in sustainable design, knowledge of local codes and by-laws and experience in the Sea-To-Sky corridor is a bonus!
  • A vehicle is beneficial.
  • Ability to develop and estimate hours of work required to complete scope of work estimates for project proposals.

Responsibilities include:

  • Are a leader with the skills and experience necessary to act effectively as a Project Designer and Manager on complex projects.
  • Set direction for the execution of project goals and objectives with project team and client, definition of scope, selection of materials and all documentation required.
  • Seek engagement and collaboration with the design team, clients, and contractors as required.
  • Work collaboratively with others toward design solutions.
  • Contribute to general office-wide initiatives and marketing efforts.
  • Demonstrate motivation in seeking new responsibilities and challenges.
