This company providing Behaviour and Learning services is looking to expand their team in both Whistler & Pemberton.   Offering, intervention and support services to neurodiverse children and their families, this role is part of a team to teach social/emotional skills, academics and life skills.

Positions available to work with children aged 18months-19years.  This is a great opportunity for anyone wishing to develop skills for a career in teaching, speech and language, occupational therapy or behaviour therapy.   No prior therapeutic experience or certifications are quires and extensive training will be provided.

About the Role:

Behaviour Interventionists (BI) work 1:1 with learners in home-based programs.   A BI works on a wide range of skills including language and communication skills, play and social skills, academics, fine and gross motor and adaptive life skills . This is a great entry level position for anyone wishing to enter a career in behaviour analysis, special education, speech and language pathology or occupational therapy.

The employer is also able to provide supervision hours for individuals who are seeking certification as a BCBA or BCaBA and require independent fieldwork hours.

  • Part-time:  6-8 hours per week to start, with the opportunity to grow into a full time position.
  • Schedule is somewhat flexible depending on your availability and the family schedules.
  • A combination of remote and in person sessions with local families.
  • Competitive wage dependent on experience in the range of $20-$35/hr.

  • No post secondary or certification requirements.

  • Ability to remain calm and professional at all times.
  • Motivated, self-starter who thrives on continuing developing and learning new skills.
  • Ongoing training will be provided by a BCBA.

Responsibilities Include: 

  • Direct work with neurodiverse children in home and community settings.
  • Teaching social and emotional skills, academic and life skills as outlined by program supervisors.
  • Data collection and progress monitoring.
  • Participation in team meetings.
  • Communication with all members of the team.
