Join a locally owned, 100% plant-based organic sourdough bakery in Creekside, Whistler!

Looking for an enthusiastic, customer-focused Barista / Guest Experience team member to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with specialty coffee experience and a passion for creating exceptional customer experiences who is looking for a stable, year-round position.

The Perfect Candidate: 

  • Previous customer service experience, ideally within the specialty coffee industry.
  • Previous barista or specialty coffee experience is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of basic food handling and food safety practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Friendly, outgoing, and passionate about providing an exceptional guest experience.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Accurate cash handling and  transaction processing.
  • Basic math skills for calculating bills, discounts, and change.
  • Valid Canadian work permit (preferably with at least 6 months remaining).

Responsibilities Include: 

  • Greet and welcome guests in a friendly, professional, and engaging manner.
  • Prepare high-quality espresso-based beverages by dialing in espresso beans and adjusting grind size and extraction as needed.
  • Steam milk to the appropriate temperature (approximately 60°C) without the use of a thermometer and create varying foam textures depending on the beverage.
  • Produce latte art, including at minimum hearts, tulips, and rosettas.
  • Process customer orders and payments accurately using the POS system.
  • Provide guests with information about beverages, baked goods, and menu offerings.
  • Respond to guest inquiries, requests, and concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Assist with basic food preparation and food handling within the bakery.
  • Maintain food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Keep the front-of-house area clean, organized, and welcoming.
  • Handle cash transactions accurately and maintain professionalism and confidentiality at all times.
