Chromag, one of Whistler’s homegrown success stories, has a spot on the team for a Soft Goods Technical Developer.  This position is about creating high end quality soft goods to fulfill the clothing needs of the mountain bike industry. Offers an excellent starting wage and a flexible part-time schedule including Friday Rides and 3-day weekends.  Ideally suited for someone who is passionate about bikes and has chosen a lifestyle centered around mountain biking.

The Perfect Candidate:

  • Minimum 1 year industry experience (preferably within the Technical Design and/or Patternmaking Departments).
  • Knowledge of pattern making and fit/form/articulation design an asset.
  • Experience in sewing, prototyping, repairs an asset.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel/Word/Outlook) and Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator & Photoshop).
  • Excellent time management, organizational & problem-solving skills.
  • Interest in learning, change, capable of managing ambiguity.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Initiative taker.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Work with Senior Designer/Softgoods Production Manager to support work flow and production timelines.
  • Communicate standards and assist in development process with vendors
  • Establish, optimize fit design standards, scaling protocol.
  • Coordinate product optimization process including testing, reviews, and customer feedback records and revision strategies.
  • Optimize sizing standards for customer facing guides and charts as needed.
  • Review samples from prototype sample to fit sample to salesmen samples to pre-production samples based on submitted tech pack.
  • In house quality control.
  • Develop and execute wear testing program within production timelines.
  • Minor in house repairs/external repair organization/work with warranty department.
  • Help with tech packs/bill of materials.
  • Factory communication/admin work/general product management.
