Pemberton Valley Supermarket is looking for an Assistant Manager or Manager to join their fun and dynamic team in the meat department.   Offering a long-term career with a salary of $54,080 to $79,040 per year depending on the position plus great perks including discounts on groceries, extended health benefits and 3-weeks annual vacation.

About the Role, Benefits & Perks:

  • Full-time, long-term, 40 hours per week.
  • Variety of shifts and requires flexibility to work mornings, afternoons, weekdays/weekends.
  • Manager Salary of $64,480 to $79,040 per year depending on previous experience plus quarterly bonuses based on performance.
  • Assistant Manager Salary of $54,080 to $70,720 per year depending on previous experience.
  • Extended Health Benefits (paid for by employer).
  • 3-weeks annual vacation.
  • 20% discount on groceries (with some exceptions).
  • Excellent work environment working with a collaborative management team and great employees.
  • Willing to consider applicants from out of town with a viable relocation plan.

The Perfect Candidate: 

  • 1 to 2+ years experience in a retail or food services management position preferred.  Meat cutting experience is required.
  • Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Create a positive workplace by developing relationships and engaging colleagues.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with colleagues, customers and suppliers.
  • Good time management; able to prioritize, delegate responsibilities and keep up with needs of the department.
  • Knowledge of health and safety legislation, policies and practices.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment under pressure.
  • Physical demands of this position include frequent lifting, standing, walking, kneeling, bending, and reaching.
  • Meat Cutter Certificate is required.

Responsibilities Include: 

  • Provide leadership and direction to employees.
  • Maintain good knowledge of product and related trends and making this information easily available to staff and customers.
  • Meeting the sales and profit goals for the meat department.
  • Inventory management and ordering.
  • Ensuring that all necessary tasks in the meat department are done knowledgeably and efficiently in accordance with Company policies.
  • Developing creative ways to ensure customer satisfaction and exceeding customer expectations.
  • Keeping up to date on product and merchandising trends.
