As the Maintenance Manager  you will maintain the workings and safety of the buildings,  direct and coordinate activities of the Facilities department,  oversee the maintenance team and more. The ideal candidate for this position has 3 years of related experience, strong communication and customer service skills with the ability to analyze and resolve problems effectively.

The Perfect Candidate: 

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in facilities, maintenance or related field is required.
  • A minimum of 3 years supervisory experience preferred
  • Valid BC Driver’s License
  • Certified Pool Operator (CPO) Certification an asset
  • Experience in project management an asset
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Strong understanding of how to develop and implement business strategies.
  • Proficient in time management; the ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to take initiative and effectively adapt to changes.
  • Able to establish and maintain a cooperative working relationships.
  • Able to use sound judgment; work independently, with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to interpret and create policies, procedures and manuals.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Able to perform a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another of a different nature, with impending deadlines and/or established time-frames.

Responsibilities Include: 

  • Develops, implements and manages the execution of capital reserve projects to maintain and improve the property building and facilities.
  • Schedules repair, maintenance, and insure continuous production of operations.
  • Maintain the highest standards of professionalism when interacting with team members, management, members, owners, and guests.
  • Actively participates in the interview, selection and training processes as assigned.
  • Interfaces with other department heads on work priorities and activities.
  • Develops and implements preventative maintenance and facilities programs.
  • Reviews production, quality control, maintenance and engineering reports, and statistics to plan and modify work activities.
  • Prepares departmental budget and monitors expenditures.
  • Interacts with general/sub-contractors on projects.
  • Ability to be available after hours for emergency call in.
  • Manage inventory for supplies, equipment and tools, ensuring adequate inventory.
  • Initiate, implement and lead the health and safety initiatives and protocols for resorts, including Work Safe BC compliance and reporting.
  • Review and approve department payroll.
  • Other duties as assigned
