About the Role, Benefits & Perks:

  • Full-time, long-term, 40 hours per week.
  • Variety of shifts and requires flexibility to work mornings, afternoons, weekdays/weekends.
  • Salary of $54,080 to $70,720 per year depending on previous experience.

The Perfect Candidate: 

  • 1+ years experience in a retail or food services position preferred.
  • Strong communicator with great interpersonal skills; able to work well with others, takes direction and enjoys learning new skills.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with colleagues, customers and suppliers.
  • Good time management; able to prioritize, delegate responsibilities and keep up with needs of the department.
  • Knowledge of health and safety legislation, policies and practices.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment under pressure.
  • Physical demands of this position include frequent lifting, standing, walking, kneeling, bending, and reaching.
  • Meat Cutter Certificate is required.

Responsibilities Include: 

  • Knowledge of the following regulations and requirements and helping to ensure they are followed in the managers absence:
    • Canadian Food Inspection Agency rules and regulations (Foodsafe).
    • Canadian Weights and Measure Regulations.
    • Workers Compensation Board of BC rules and regulations.
    • The supermarkets Company policies and employee handbook.
  • Working knowledge of scale and printer.
  • Ordering and covering the meat manager’s responsibilities when they are absent.
  • Working knowledge of meat room equipment.
  • Working knowledge of product storage and rotation.
  • Making sure that the meat room and surrounding areas are always clean.
  • Complete knowledge of counter layout.
  • Responsible for completing all daily duties as set out.
  • General knowledge of store layout and available products.
