A growing and dynamic company that services some of Whistler’s best hospitality establishments is looking for a Financial Controller to join their team!  Offering $85,000 to $100,000+ per year (negotiable based on experience) PLUS  other benefits including  housing, cell phone, grocery and transportation allowance.  Housing is available for the right candidate living outside the area.

The Financial Controller is responsible for managing the day to day operations of the accounting and finance department.  Ideally suited for an innovative thinker with a strong finance and leadership background and a passion for creating impact.

  • Full-time, 40 hours per week.
  • Monday to Friday, 9AM to 5:30PM with some flexibility.
  • Annual salary starting in the range of $85,000 to $100,000+ per year negotiable based on experience and education.

The Perfect Candidate 

  • 5 to 10 years of proven financial management experience with the day-to-day financial operations.
  • Accounting and Finance experience in a food & beverage driven hospitality business operations (hotel/resort group or restaurant chain) is an asset.
  • 4-year bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required.  CPA certification highly desirable.
  • Strong computer skills including knowledge of the following: MS Applications like Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, Teams, Oracle
    SharePoint, Planner, To do etc.
  • Proficient with accounting software such as SAP, Sage, NetSuite, QuickBooks, etc.
  • Knowledge of inventory management systems like Marketman is an asset.
  • Knowledge of Food and Beverage Point of Sales Software. Touch Bistro experience is an asset.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Analytical skills and very well organized.
  • Proven ability to lead, grow and develop accounting employees.

Responsibilities Include: 

  • Managing the day to day operations of the accounting and finance department.
  • Responsible for financial analysis, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, audit and control, asset and liability reconciliation, working capital and cash control.
  • Oversees and manages financial budgets, as well as implementing all activities relating to the aspects of compliance with provincial and federal tax laws and also by the company’s SOP’s.
  • Oversees internal, external, and regulatory audit processes.
  • Establishes and maintains open, collaborative relationships with employees.
  • Ensures employees establish and maintain open, collaborative relationships within their team.
  • Participates in the employee performance appraisal process, providing feedback as needed.
  • Other tasks as needed for the position.
