Whistler Film Festival is Canada’s ‘coolest’ film festival – Every December it screens  many world premieres and the hottest films and attracts up to 20,000 attendees annually including 1,000+ industry insiders and celebrities.  And the very BEST way to experience the WFF is to work it!

The WFF requires a large cast of passionate, fun-loving coordinators,  workers and volunteers in order to pull off this awesome event .   We are currently recruiting for the following roles:

Transportation Coordinator *required immediately

About this Position:

    • Full-time, Starts asap (Mon, Nov20) and works until Dec4
    • Schedule is 6am – 8pm shifts, roughly 10 hours per day.  Mon-Friday until Nov28th then every day over the festival (Nov29-Dec3).
    • Contract position with a flat rate equal to a wage between $16-$18/hours.
    • Perks include full credential pass with “All Access Pass” to events and movies as well as the closing wrap party.

Duties and Responsibilities Include:

    • Coordinating in-resort pickups and drop-offs, at times pre-scheduled.
    • Working directly with the VIP hosts to find out their needs then work out the driver schedules from there.
    • Juggling drivers and schedules as needed to accommodate film festival VIPs, guests and staff.
    • Dispatching drivers on a daily and hourly and could be at times, by the minute basis.

Perfect Candidate:

    • Logistics expert (loves  puzzles and juggling).
    • Solid verbal and written communication skills (English)
    • Very strong admin skills with at least 2 years experience and good working knowledge of MS Office & Excel.
    • Problem solver who takes initiative and can work independently.

Guest Service & Operations Coordinators & Event Crew

About this Position:  Reporting to the Guest Service Manager, the Guest Service & Operations Coordinators & Crew will assist to coordinate transportation, accommodation and accreditation arrangements for all festival guests and staff ensuring an enjoyable and productive festival experience. Various responsibilities include coordinating travel and accommodation, working with key suppliers and team members, and communicating with filmmakers, guests, sponsors, industry, media and staff.  The Coordinator(s) will also be coordinating the Guest Service Centre, including overseeing hosts and volunteers during the Festival.

Qualifications:  Experience working in a film festival/event environment and familiarity with registration procedures; Hospitality/Travel/Accommodation experience a huge asset; Resort and property knowledge required. This is a front line position and the candidate must be professional, extremely personable and have effective verbal and written communication skills; Must be extremely organized, able to work in a high-pressure environment; Experience with database systems and excel required; Must be willing to work extensive hours leading up to and during the event; Ability to work well in a team and independently required. Prior experience supervising volunteers an asset.

Dates & Wages:   Week of the Festival :  Nov28 – Dec 3rd
8 – 10 hours per day, 3-6 days* over the course of the Whistler Film Festival

Wages in the range of $15 – $16/hour

Box Office Coordinators & Agents

About this Position: Reporting to the Box Office Manager and Controller, these positions works closely with the ticket agents and general public, selling tickets and merchandise, redeeming passes and providing Whistler Film Festival information and outstanding customer service to all patrons of the Festival. This position requires out-going and experienced sales person who is a master with numbers, technically competent and administratively proficient.

Qualifications: This is a front line position and candidates must be professional, extremely personable and have effective verbal and written communication skills; Box Office/Ticketing Experience required; Adaptable to a flexible work schedule, including some evenings and weekends; Familiarity with Sales and Ticketing Software, and previous box office or retail sales and customer service experience as well as supervising staff an asset.

Dates & Wages:   Week of the Festival :  Nov28 – Dec 3rd
8 – 10 hours per day, 3-6 days* over the course of the Whistler Film Festival
*preference will be given to candidates who are available for the whole festival
Wages in the range of $15 – $16/hour
